Reopening of tourist places in the Alpilles

With the current health crisis and the period of lockdown, all tourist activities in the Alpilles have been brought to a halt. Since the announcement of the relaxing of the lockdown’s rules on 11th May, the structures are gradually reopening their doors. If you are looking for your next activity in the Alpilles during the summer of 2020, here are a few trails of sites and museums ready to welcome you:

The Musée des Alpilles is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm and admission is free for all until 30 August.
Place Favier
13210 Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

For an excursion into antiquity, the archaeological site of Glanum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is open every day between 9.45 am and 6 pm.

Please note that the number of visitors to the site is limited, so we advise you to book your ticket at their online ticket office.

To our great pleasure, the Carrières de Lumières (Les Baux-de-Provence) are currently open. Special arrangements for visits are planned: it is advisable to book your entrance tickets online, temperature control at the entrance, groups are not allowed. At the moment, two unique exhibitions are to be seen (and experienced) at the Carrières de Lumières: “Dali, l’énigme sans fin” and “Gaudi, architecte de l’imaginaire”.

With its 300 varieties of bamboos and hundreds of other varieties of plants and grasses, the Bambous en Provence garden will offer you a moment of greenery and freshness. This remarkable garden is open every day from 2pm to 8pm.

In Graveson-en-Provence, the Museum of Aromas and Perfume has partially reopened. The factory shop is open from Monday to Friday from 2 to 5 pm and the bio-experimental garden is open to the public. On the other hand, it is impossible to visit the museum, which is closed to the public.
13 Ancien Chemin d’Arles
13690 Graveson

The Château des Baux-de-Provence is open every day from 9am to 8pm in July and August. On the other hand, audio-guides are not available during the visit. We advise you to download the free application on your smartphone. You can also pick up your entrance tickets on their website.

Please note that wearing a mask is compulsory in  all closed public places. Protect yourself, respect the social distance!

Although the current situation is a little unusual, relax and enjoy your holiday to discover the Alpilles and its secrets.
